Lewismen in Australian service

The men named on this site were part of the Australian forces that fought alongside their British counterparts in various campaigns between 1914 and 1918. They all originated from, or had links to, the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The information presented here has been compiled from service records on Australian Archives; information from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website and Loyal Lewis, Roll of Honour (1914-1918). Not all men named in the Roll of Honour could be traced on Archives Australia, and are annotated as such.

The site is arranged by surname (right sidebar) and originating village (left sidebar).

Information on the ten men who died as a direct result of their war service can be viewed on Faces from the Lewis War Memorial.
